Established in 1993, Founder and President Mark Reaves, launched Mark of Excellence, focusing on high-end residential landscape design, installation, and maintenance.

His philosophy looks at garden design as an extension of the home, where each outdoor room should reflect its own place, form and function in which to enjoy, stroll, relax or entertain.

Mark studied landscape architecture at University of Florida and has over twenty years of hands-on and personal experience with plants, site conditions and pruning expertise that ensures a long-term successful design installation.

They are one of the few firms that specializes in hand horticultural pruning practices, an important part in promoting a healthy plant throughout our growing seasons, extending longevity, reducing maintenance requirements and enhancing a landscape’s overall design intent. Some of the featured magazines showcasing mark’s work are Georgia Gardening, Atlanta Homes and Lifestyle, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Dream Gardens, BHG Garden Ideas, and Atlanta Home Magazine.

Mark produces all designs and sources his materials and plants through proven, trusted, professional relationships to ensure customer service requests meet and exceed expectations.

With a focus on continued growth, Mark wanted to ensure that his business would continue to flourish beyond the current with new customers and the systems and team to help produce the right results.

2019 introduces The Grounds Guys of Atlanta, a green industry franchise concept. Same owner, same professional quality and service; Mark now has the support of people on the ground as well as behind the scenes to ensure his continued success in Landscape Design, Installation and Maintenance.

Linda Miller joined Mark and The Grounds Guys of Atlanta as his Operations Manager this year, with over thirty years’ experience in a variety of management positions in her horticultural career. Linda also shares her knowledge as a Franchise Consultant in the business arena. Together they are moving forward to continue Mark’s footprint in the greater Atlanta residential neighborhood sector.
