The Dwyer Group Names Chris Elmore President of The Grounds Guys

WACO, Texas (Dec. 11, 2013) – The Grounds Guys, a subsidiary of The Dwyer Group®, announced the appointment of Chris Elmore to the position of president of the commercial and residential landscape management services franchisor, effective Jan. 1, 2014.

He succeeds Ron Madera, who will retire at the end of December.

According to Mike Bidwell, president and chief operating officer of The Dwyer Group, Elmore’s appointment reinforces the future growth of the franchise.

"Chris is a proven business leader and has brought strong results wherever he has served," Bidwell said. " The Grounds Guys has shown tremendous growth under Ron Madera’s leadership which will only continue under Chris’ guidance."

Elmore began his career with The Dwyer Group in 1995 as an HVAC service technician with AireServ®, another brand within The Dwyer Group family of service franchises. In May 2000, he joined the corporate team as a franchise consultant and four years later became vice president of operations for AireServ.

In 2010, The Dwyer Group began franchising The Grounds Guys US and Madera recruited Elmore to be the vice president of operations for The Grounds Guys. Under Madera’s leadership, The Grounds Guys has grown to 136 franchisees in three short years.

According to Elmore, his vision as president of The Grounds Guys will be to continue to teach franchisees the principles of business and personal success so that they can lead happier and more successful lives.

Elmore received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management at the University of Houston – Victoria. A native of Norfolk, Va., Elmore lives in Waco with his wife Laura and two children, a daughter who is a junior in high school and a son who attends Baylor University. In his spare time, Elmore enjoys CrossFit and being in the outdoors.
